Seizure Head Protection

Epilepsy WA is proud to have created what is thought to be the largest display of seizure head protection options available. Our thanks to Telethon 7 for their support of this important initiative for West Australian children, young people and their families.

Our new Seizure Head Protection booklet is an extensive guide of head protection options for those West Australians for whom their seizures are uncontrolled and who may benefit from head protection options to reduce their risk of head or facial injuries.

Epilepsy WA recommends that head protection options are considered as just one part of an overall risk reduction plan.

We suggest that individuals living with uncontrolled seizures, particularly tonic-clonic, drop seizures or any seizure that increases the risk of impact to the head or face, discuss the appropriateness of head protection with their treating medical or allied health professional.

Seizure Head Protection

Different head protection options offer varying degrees of protection and coverage and it is recommended to seek appropriate qualified medical or allied health advice for guidance around the most suitable option for your individual circumstance.
