SUDEP and Risk Reduction

SUDEP and Risk Reduction

We work to raise awareness of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death In Epilepsy) and other causes of epilepsy related harm, and we seek to empower the WA community with the knowledge needed to help them to reduce their risk.

More information and a free downloadable risk reduction check list is available here.

We encourage adults impacted by a diagnosis of epilepsy to consider viewing this 2021 conference talk by Dr Nick Lawn, Consultant Neurologist and Epileptologist for the Western Australian Adult Epilepsy Service. Medical professionals, parents/carers and people working in disability services and allied health may also find this talk informative.

We welcome contact from anyone who has questions about this critical but sometimes difficult to talk about topic.
